Scheepswerf Visser b.v. became a member of the Damen Shipyards Group in 1993, and is a modern shiprepair company, employing 70 workers.

In 2007 the activities of the company of Texdok BV in Oudeschild were taken over, and continued as Visser Texel. In this department 12 people are employed. A very important part of the work is maintenance, repair and rebuilding of various kinds of ships for a large range of customers.

These customers come from: The Royal Dutch Navy, Fishing companies, KLPD-Police (Dutch Waterpolice), Kon. Marechaussee (Military Police), Rijkswaterstaat (Public Works), Towage companies, Dredging companies and contractors, Offshorecompanies – Supplies – Standby – Chase - Seismic, etc.

Yard facilities at Visser Den Helder
The yard is situated at the inner harbour of Den Helder and has a 260 mtrs repair-quay,  with two big sheds with an inner slipway of 300 tonnes. The sheds have a length of 50 and 55 mtrs (Breadth each 20 mtrs). In these sheds maintenance, grit blasting and painting on all kinds of vessels can be done. (Breadth of slipway – 9 mtrs).

Over 150 mtrs of the repair-quay a fixed repair crane is available with a capacity of 5 tonnes.  The repair berth has  shore connections for electric power, gas, oxygen and high pressure air.
